A Day in Your Life at MKS:

We are looking for an exceptional Principal Electronic Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team of engineers focused on developing innovative technology for our capital equipment products. Responsibilities may include board level digital circuit design, analog circuit design, power subsystem design, firmware development, and system integration and testing.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Work as part of a team and collaborate on cross-functional development projects
  • Simulate, integrate, and design complex subsystems (e.g., PCBA/digital/analog/RF/FW) to achieve system-level requirements
  • Guide the team through design evaluations and engineering tradeoffs to optimize functional performance, reliability, and product cost
  • Help define and implement appropriate test plans and procedures
  • Analyze equipment to establish operating criteria by conducting experimental tests and evaluating the results

Skills You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, and 10 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, in development and debugging of electronics.
  • 10+ years of broad electrical engineering design experience (e.g., PCBA design, layout, FPGA, EMC and/or thermal
  • 8+ years of experience with digital and mixed signal PCB design.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex systems with a team
  • A proven history of technical design success and a methodology of achieving it
  • Ability to work on problems of difficult scope where success requires analysis of data and judgement on the generation of additional unprovided inputs
  • While travel is infrequent, up to 10% travel is possible

Should have at least Two, or more, of the following skills:

  • FPGA Firmware
  • Analog design and modeling (SPICE post college)
  • RF design and modeling
  • Thermal modeling beyond case-junction temperature
  • Panel Design or Box Build experience. If familiarity integrating UL 508 panel builds (box builds) connecting components with point to point wiring (incorporates for example: safety controller, discrete wiring, motor amplifier, cables, terminal blocks, contactors and/or)-
  • Thermal-
  • EMC
  • Debugging
  • AC Entry design also known as Power Distribution Unit
  • Test definition to either share or self-execute
  • Mentorship of exceptional up and coming talent
  • Familiarity with industrial tool standards
  • Familiarity integrating UL 508 panel builds (box builds) connecting components with point to point wiring
  • Lab equipment experience (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
