BASIC FUNCTION:


The Process Engineer is responsible for providing designed systems and custom fabrications to fit customers’ needs in support of efficient and profitable operations of the department.


AUTHORITY:


The Process Engineer is appointed by the President and accountable to the Engineering Manager.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Process Engineer is responsible for the following duties to be performed in a timely and confidential manner. All information and questions should be directed to the Engineering Manager where applicable.


Assumes responsibility for designing and developing new or updated process systems as well as custom fabrications from start to finish for processing plants in the food, beverage, dairy, and other sanitary industries.


  1. Writes up quotation packages to send out to customers.
  2. Provides backup documentation for processed quotes.


  1. Assumes responsibility for the installation of process systems.
  2. Oversees site installation.
  3. Troubleshoots and solves issues as they arise.
  4. Serves as the project manager and coordinates with each department.


  1. Assumes responsibility for the design of custom fabrication projects
  2. Coordinates with the purchasing manager and installation team.


  1. Communicates with customers throughout every stage of the project.
  2. Keeps customers informed on abilities to meet deadlines.
  3. Informs customers of any issues on the job that may impact timeline of completion.
  4. Keeps sales manager in that territory informed on job progress


Keeps up to date on changes in the industry by self-education, company provided trainings, and vendor trainings.


MEASUREMENT OF PERFORMANCE:


Company assets, information, formulas, processes are safeguarded and preserved.


Ensures that appropriate measures are taken to safeguard proprietary products and information including trade secrets and confidential information.


Oversees and completes projects safely and on-time while maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.


Adaptable and able to troubleshoot issues that may arise throughout the projects.


Positive business relationships exist with coworkers, external associates, regulatory authorities, vendors, and clients.


Good coordination, communication, and effective working relations exist with other departments. Works well with Company personnel to achieve goals.


  1. Annual Performance Evaluation merits at least a satisfactory rating.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Related Field

1-2 years of Previous Experience


KEY COMPETENCIES:


  • Detail oriented
  • Prior experience using AutoCAD
  • Prior experience with 3D drawings
  • Willingness to travel up to 25-30% depending on project requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates leadership
