Procurement Co-Op/Intern  

The Procurement Co-Op/Intern will be responsible for assisting the Procurement Team in the Phosphate business unit. The Operational procurement team is the key liaison between the operations, Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Shared Services.  Our student opportunities allow you to learn from professionals in your discipline, offers competitive pay, a relocation package and opportunity to work with a global leader on exciting projects and much more.    



Where Will You Work

Operational headquarters in Lithia, FL (1380 Circa Crossing Drive| Lithia, Fl 33547) with travel to other Florida sites as need it. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

September 9 to December 20, 2024

Full time Co-Op/Internship. Typically, 36-40hrs a week/hybrid.

What will you do?

Responsibilities

The Procurement Team is responsible for the efficient and cost-effective execution of all strategic procurement activities in close coordination with Strategic Sourcing to fulfill business needs. As a Procurement Co-Op/Intern you will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in communicating with the procurement buyer team to ensure compliance with procurement policy, procedures, corporate strategies, and schedule requirements.  
  • Monitor and support buyers to ensure compliance and adherence to processes, data and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with preparing and analyzing competitive sealed bids, competitive sealed proposals, requests for quotations and requests for statements of qualifications.
  • Prepare bid requests and specifications; schedule, receive, and analyze bids as well as recommend proposals regarding the awarding of bids.
  • Coordinate purchasing procedures among departments and divisions
  • Effectively communicate purchasing policies and procedures to all personnel and interpret said policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation on all solicitations, responses, purchases, contracts, correspondence and related follow-up.
  • Working with a wide range of people including management, production operations, and functional employees. 
  • Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What do you need for this role?  

  • Sophomore level or higher pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering.
  • SAP S/4HANA or SAP Ariba Contracts experience preferred  
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills and proficiency with visualization/reporting tools considered an asset.  
  • 2.75 GPA or higher  
  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is required 
  • Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred 
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office. 
  • Experience working in a team environment is a must 
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable 
  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus 
  • Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments.
