TITLE: Associate Manager, Product Development

REPORTS TO: Director, Product Development

PRIMARY LOCATION: New York Metro Area (primarily virtual, but some in person meetings required)


Job Description:

The Associate Product Development Manager will support product development activities juvenile products for both hard and soft goods projects in partnership with the product development leaders. This individual will work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to support the execution of the brand strategy and innovation to fuel the growth in a process that is timely and profitable.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Support the innovation & product development activities aligned with the company’s strategic vision for the brand and bring innovative ideas with consumer needs in mind
  • Work closely on the product development lifecycle from concept to launch and maintenance
  • Keep abreast of competitor landscapes including customer reviews and marketing campaigns
  • Manage development timelines, deliverables, and stage gate deadlines
  • Troubleshoot development and production issues and conduct consumer testing
  • Work directly with factories, domestic and internationally, on product development projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Communicate with management regarding potential stage gate deadline issues, offering proactive solutions and recommendations
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, internal and external partners
  • Manage and track samples including display room
  • Manage item set up forms and tech packs


Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 years Product Development experience in a consumer products company (juvenile hard good or textile products preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, organization, and curiosity to learn
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to express ideas clearly.
  • Comfortable working in a primary virtual work environment, with the ability to be present as needed for periodic meetings in the NY Metro area
  • Operates with a “win together” mentality and a commitment to accountability for results

Salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive set of benefits and incentive plan. The base salary hiring range for this position is $70,000-$80,000, but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate's location, skill level and experience.
