Primary Purpose Of Organizational Unit

The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

Position Summary

These part-time position(s) will provide production assistance for live events to the Go Heels Productions unit within Carolina Athletics; this includes, but is not limited to: Carolina Athletics video board productions, ACC Network broadcasts, and other special events as needed.

Selected candidate(s) must have an interest in working in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience related to the area of assignment in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

High school diploma or equivalency and one (1) year of experience related to the area of assignment in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment, or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience

  • Successful candidate must posses a strong interest in live-event video production;

willingness to work nights and weekends, and willingness to work long hours.

  • Experience in shooting video; moderate to advance non-linear editing and graphics skills; knowledge of sports and live production processes.
  • Experience working as a videographer, either in a live environment or in an ENG capacity a plus.
