What We Need:

  • The Overnight Production Manager will be expected to partner with other essential business centers throughout the night to make critical decisions. These departments include Sanitation, Quality/Food Safety, Maintenance, and Warehouse. Overnight Production Manager acts as a lead orchestrator of critical activities as finished good manufacturing winds down, production areas are turned over to Sanitation and Change-over teams and eventually handed back over to Production for ramp-up of new production.


What You Will Do:

  • Uphold employee safety, food safety, and product quality standards on the overnight shift through rigorous enforcement of Personal Protective Equipment compliance and Good Manufacturing Practices in accordance with established company policy and standard operating procedures.
  • Identify safety, quality and performance gaps within the operation and provide sustainable solutions and implement them to mitigate.
  • Maintain a Continuous Improvement mindset in which data-based decisions drive improvements and/or corrective actions to nightly challenges and perform audits as directed.
  • Directly involve his or herself in the various functional tasks of the overnight operation to audit for process compliance and identify and implement areas of opportunity – hands-on management is key for success in this role.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to direct flow of sequential activities that bridge the gap between end of production and resuming the following day
  • Lead, coach and direct hourly and supervisor team members to prioritize business-critical initiatives and bolster plant performance
  • Commit to quarterly deliverables, or ROCKS, in alignment with overall plant initiatives to improve Performance, Standard Case Attainment, Plant Yields, shrink Waste and ultimately drive down cost per case
  • Build strong partnership with day shift management team in Production areas to ensure business continuity between day shift and overnight activity and expectations


What You Need:

  • (5) Five years or more of experience building, leading, and directing team members in a food manufacturing environment at a Supervisory level or greater
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar discipline strongly preferred; equivalent education and experience to be considered
  • Union workforce experience preferred
  • GMP environment experience is required; food production experience is highly preferred
  • Demonstrate understanding of business metrics and key performance drivers and how to execute strategic plans to improve these metrics
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to drive focus on long-term projects, and effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects successfully that are highly time-sensitive
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and various database applications, excel is a must
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Writing Skills including Authoring SOP/JSA/OPL's
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. repeatedly and 50 lbs. periodically
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to handle and should not be affected by exposure to the following allergens: Milk, Eggs, Mustard, Peanuts, Seafood, Sulfites, Sesame, Soy, Tree Nuts, Wheat or Sulfites.
