Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Project and Program Manager to lead both individual client projects and/or a portfolio of client projects (programs). The successful candidate will be responsible for not only overseeing the planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of client projects but also for the coordination and administration of multiple related projects directed toward strategic business and organizational objectives. This role involves managing project scope, implementation team, budget, and stakeholders to ensure success while also ensuring that program goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team performance.

About The Role

In this role of Program Manager, Client Project Management, you will:

  • Develop and oversee the project plans as well as program strategies, including setting project goals, objectives, timelines, and milestones.
  • Create, manage, and align project teams, ensuring that program-level objectives are translated into project-level deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to understand project and program requirements, ensuring their satisfaction and strategic alignment.
  • Manage project and program budgets, including tracking expenses, forecasting costs, and ensuring compliance with financial constraints across multiple projects.
  • Monitor project progress and program performance, adjusting plans and strategies as needed to ensure success and alignment with client goals.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project success or program outcomes.
  • Develop and implement project management tools and processes, as well as program management frameworks to ensure project efficiency and program effectiveness.
  • Ensure that project deliverables and program outcomes are of high quality, meet or exceed stakeholder expectations, and are achieved within agreed parameters.
  • Evaluate both project and program performance, providing recommendations for improvement and reporting to senior management.
  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement by introducing innovations to project and program management processes.


About You

We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in project management and at least 3 years in program management or a similar strategic role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading projects from planning to completion and managing programs that span multiple projects and teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with extensive experience managing cross-functional teams and inter-project dependencies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills to effectively balance the needs of both projects and programs.
  • Advanced problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills to anticipate and avert issues before they arise.
  • Proficiency with project and program management tools and software.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with a preference for an advanced degree in business or a related discipline.


Nice to Have:

  • Active government clearance.
  • Advanced program management experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex portfolios and multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Experience working in IT and with IT projects, particularly those involving software development, enterprise software implementation, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
  • Agile and Scrum project management methodology experience, with the ability to adapt and apply agile practices to various types of projects and programs.
  • Proficiency with a range of project and program management software such as Asana, Trello, Jira, MS Project, or other relevant tools.
  • Certification in project and program management (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, or equivalent).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and align project and program outcomes with business strategy.
  • Experience in change management, helping to guide and transition organizations through growth and transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards relevant to the organization's sector.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in facilitating collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders, including conflict resolution and consensus-building skills.
  • A history of continuous learning and professional development in project and program management as well as leadership and strategic management.


Compensation: $185,000 Base Annual + 15% Annual Bonus

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $112,400 - $208,800. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states: CA, CO, CT, IL, NV, TX, WA and/or remote. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $102,200 - $189,800. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
