Job Title: Program Manager (IT)

Location: Chicago, IL (Local Candidates Only Must be within 1-hour driving distance)

Job Overview

The Program Manager (IT) will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating multiple IT projects within a program, ensuring that they align with the organization's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple IT projects within a program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain program schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on program status, risks, and issues.
  • Facilitate program meetings, including status updates, steering committee meetings, and issue resolution sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the program to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3 years in a program management role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale IT programs involving multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar.
  • Ability to work onsite in Chicago, IL, and reside within an hour's driving distance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s degree in a related field or an MBA.
  • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant certifications.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, software development, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and practices.
