Carolina Foods is the founding bakery of Duchess Brand snacks and creator of one of America's first Honey Buns. Our business has been in operation since 1934, and our products are synonymous with quality, innovation, and a longer shelf-life. We are a manufacturer of sweet baked goods and our products include a variety of delicious individually wrapped items, including: honey buns, baked pies, fried pies, and gem donuts to serve all customers' needs. We recently celebrated the Grand Opening of our new bakery in Pineville and our 90th anniversary as a company, and are looking for driven individuals to join us on our journey. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Function as a liaison between A&E firm and Carolina Foods.

Provide support of all project phases, including design, procurement, installation, and commissioning.

Provide data and feedback to A&E firm and suppliers as needed to maintain project schedules and costs.


  • Provide on-the-floor support of installation and commissioning activities with A&E firm, equipment suppliers, and installation crews.


  • Work with Continuous Improvement, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure equipment and processes meets operational needs and GMP requirements.


  • Support ramp-up activities to ensure new lines achieve or exceed designed OEE levels.


  • Provide engineering support of new product innovation opportunities.


  • Work with Operations, Maintenance, and CI teams to develop and drive a Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) culture including the pillars of planned maintenance and autonomous maintenance.


  • Analyze and own results / KPIs and act with urgency and pace.


  • Always be a responsible steward of the brand, business team members, and stakeholders.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Required

BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.


Hands-on attitude with the willingness and ability to work closely with personnel on the shop floor.


2+ years of experience providing project or process technical engineering support in an automated manufacturing environment.


Preferred

Demonstrable experience with electrical, controls, and automation.


5+ years of experience providing project or technical engineering support in an automated manufacturing environment.


Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
