🛡 October is #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth! The mission of APTIM's cybersecurity team is to protect, enable, and engage. In support of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, here are four easy ways to stay safe online: 🔒Use Strong Passwords: Strong passwords are long, random, and unique and include all four character types (uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols). Password managers are a powerful tool to help you create strong passwords for each of your accounts. 📲 Turn on Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): You need more than a password to protect your online accounts; enabling MFA makes you significantly less likely to get hacked. Enable MFA on all your online accounts that offer it, especially email, social media, and financial accounts. 📧 Recognize & Report Phishing: Be cautious of unsolicited messages asking for personal information. Avoid sharing sensitive information or credentials with unknown sources. Report phishing attempts and delete the message. 🌐 Update Software: Ensuring your software is up to date is the best way to make sure you have the latest security patches and updates on your devices. Regularly check for updates if automatic updates are unavailable. Learn more about what you can do to help #SecureOurWorld: https://lnkd.in/eU_sZX28

Meet Angelique Plaisance, a biologist and lead at APTIM’s field office in Belle Chase, #Louisiana! Born and raised in Golden Meadow, Louisiana, Angelique chose a career in coastal monitoring because, in her words, “saving the coast has always been at the forefront of conversations of my everyday life.” Being out in the field, Angelique has a hands-on approach to protecting her state. “Studying naturally occurring coastal erosion and subsidence —as well as accelerated erosion/subsidence due to industry and weather events, such as hurricanes, in the area —is needed to keep the communities, land, and people who live here thriving,” she said. Angelique schedules and completes field work for Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority of Louisiana's Coastwide Reference Monitoring System (CRMS), which ensures Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan is effectively creating a sustainable ecosystem. The impact of CRMS is validated through the project’s repeated references in scientific publications. Most notable: the effects of freshwater diversions. “Natural divisions that have been recently created at Mardi Gras and Neptune Passes are examples of what the reintroduction of fresh water into our marshes can do,” she shared. “The data collected at CRMS sites near these passes shows the potential benefit of manmade projects that are in the works, such as Mid-Barataria and Mid-Breton sediment diversion.” Learn more about APTIM’s Coastal Sciences & Engineering Solutions: https://lnkd.in/gR_8aez9 #Biology #SedimentResearch #CoastalErosion #CoastalProtection #CoastalResilience #EnvironmentalSolutions #APTIMinLA #InPursuitOfBetter

Last week, our Hispanic/LatinX Organization for Leadership and Advancement (HOLA) inclusion network hosted a company-wide celebration of #HispanicHeritageMonth. HOLA is cultivating a dynamic, diverse, and welcoming community at APTIM, enabling Hispanic/LatinX employees to thrive and be recognized as key contributors to the success of our company. The celebration, led by several of our HOLA leads, went through the history and origins of Hispanic Heritage Month; the influence and impact of food, entertainment, and literature; and the efforts of several public figures who helped lead the way for recognizing Hispanic and Latin heritage. As a result of HOLA's efforts, the inclusion network grew its members! We are excited to see what's in store. #InPursuitOfBetter
