The .5 Project GLAD® Instructional Specialist will support implementation with Project GLAD® Foundations Training (2-day Research and Theory Workshop and 4-day Classroom Demonstration) as well as follow-up professional development opportunities for Project GLAD® implementation. Primary responsibilities associated with this position will be to support the growth of the Project GLAD® approach and tasks associated with the development of the ACPS Project GLAD® Regional Training Center. This position will report to the Project GLAD Specialist in the Office of English Learner Services.
Qualifications: Evidence of Project GLAD® expertise, routine use of Project GLAD strategies, and dynamic presentation and facilitation skills are required.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Masters degree in Education; EL Certification preferred
Certificates and License: A valid Virginia Department of Education license is required, or eligibility to obtain one.
Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience, EL preferred
ACPS Project GLAD® Agency Trainer (Tier III Trainer)
Project GLAD® Certification Training for Trainers in Training
Knowledge and regular use of the Google Suite and CANVAS tools
Essential Functions
Work collaboratively with the Project GLAD® Specialist to plan for, prepare for, and deliver Foundations Training and Certifications (trainer of trainers)
Develop follow-up learning experiences with schools to encourage implementation including professional development, Professional Learning Community (PLC) work, modeling, and developing systems of support
Support in the development of the OCDE Project GLAD® Regional Training Center

July 1, 2024- June 30, 2025 (12-month employment)
Salary Range- 40,000-55,000
This position is funded through nonlocal funds and this position is dependent on the continuation of these funds.
