Positionwillberesponsiblefor supporting collaboration across CPS and DFSS in implementing the city-wide vision for early childhood and roll-out of universal full-day preschool for four-year-olds.This position will ensure that operational structures across DFSS and CPS are aligned in a manner that supports participation of community-based early childhood programs in the mayor’s key initiatives.This position will work with the Mayor’s Office, aligning closely with Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) and Chicago Public Schools (CPS) subject matter experts, and partner with the vendors, as necessary, to achieve the mayor’s overall vision for early childhood programming.

Essential Duties
- Stafftheworkgroupswithappropriatesubjectmatterexpertstoensurethatpolicydecisionsare being madeinatimelyfashiononordertoinformthetechnologyrequirementsofthe application.
- Coordinateworkinggroupsacrosscitydepartments(i.e.,DFSS,DolTandMayor'sOffice)andCPS, as necessary,toensurethatwearefullyintegratingthenewparentapplicationintoappropriate existing structureswithineach system.
- SupporttheimplementationofacommunityengagementprocessthatensurestheCity of Chicagohas feedback andbuy-inofappropriatecommunitymembersanddelegateagencies, as necessary .
- Lead strategic planning on family outreach and supportstructuresthatensure the city has appropriate mechanisms to recruit and supportfamiliesthrough the enrollment process for universal full-day preschool.
- Assessandevaluatepotentialrisksinvolvedwithnewapplicationprocessand problem-solve solutions that support timely and successful implementation of initiatives.
- Coordinatewiththeexistingoutreachpartners(i.e . ActionforChildrenhotline,COFIparent outreach, InnovationZones)toensurethattheyhavetheresourcestheyneedto support implementation of new initiatives.
- Managemultiplevendorsandprojectdeliverablestoensurethescope,timelineandbudget is met for new initiatives.
- EvaluatetheexistingbusinessprocessesbetweenDFSSandCPSandrecommendstrategies to streamlineareasofduplicationorinefficiency,where possible.
- AssistwithsystemtrainingtoDFSSandCPSstaffanddelegate agencies.
- Apprise the Commissioner, Mayor’s office and other key stakeholders on status of key projects, as necessary.
- Makes recommendations that show how existing data can be integrated and made available to facilitate project evaluation.
- Reviews, analyses and evaluates the effectiveness of projects using data and data sources to ensure Chicago Early Learning goals are met, and in compliance with established program standards.
