Quality Engineering Supervisor

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Quality Engineering Supervisor will manage a team of Quality Technicians, Lab Technicians, CMM Technicians, and Incoming QA. Will be responsible for analyzing scrap, scrap reduction projects, corrective actions (8Ds), creating work instructions, and more.


JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ability to distinguish colors of product, identify defects, and prepare a quality disposition.
  • Ability to read and to document findings from quality activities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to make decisions with respect to acceptability of production parts.
  • Ability to write reports detailing Customer satisfaction visits.
  • Compile production part approval process (PPAP) packages.
  • Complete sorting of parts and routine finished goods audits as appropriate.
  • Confer with Supervisors to resolve problems affecting the quality of product.
  • Evaluate and process customer complaints, rejections, and initiate corrective actions as required.
  • Interpret conformance of Customer quality requirements through blueprints or other records.
  • Prepare and maintain quality documents with the most current Customer quality requirements.
  • Report Customer requests for information and complaints to the Engineering and Quality Managers.
  • Sort parts on site and perform internal dock audits.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to ensure proper quality of work and efficiency.

  • Training needs are based on Techniplas’ ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 training matrix for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES):

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree highly preferred AND;
  • Certifications in quality control or customer service-related disciplines preferred AND;
  • 3 years of manufacturing quality experience required AND;
  • Must possess demonstrated analytical capability, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and excellent oral and electronic communication.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English required.
  • Interpretation of blueprints, intermediate level for enterprise resource planning (ERP) software use, satisfactory result of color hue and sorting testing, and the use of basic hand tools and quality control testing equipment experience are all skills that will be required for this job.
