Recreation Manager - SOAR

Social Opportunities and Recreation (SOAR) provides families, with children ages 12 – 21 enrolled in middle and high school, with three program options at various locations throughout St. Charles County: Teen Club, Break Camp, and Summer Camp.

All three program options are provided within an engaging, fun, safe, and supervised environment where the children are encouraged to enhance their independence, as well as their communication, socialization, and job/life skills.

SOAR not only provides children with a program that fosters relationship building but also assists parents with maintaining employment while increasing family stability.

Position: Recreation Manager, SOAR

Pay Rate:$24.27/Hour

FLSA/Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Mon-Fri between 8am-6:30pm (flexible)

Location: O'Fallon, MO

What You'll Do:

  • Plan and Lead: Design and coordinate all aspects of the SOAR programs
  • Build a Stellar Team: Hire, train, and develop staff and volunteers
  • Ensure Safety and Fun: Oversee the safety and welfare of participants, staff, and families
  • Create Strong Relationships: Engage with providers, parents, guardians, and the community
  • Innovate and Improve: Develop strategies to enhance program efficiency and outcomes

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct facility orientations for new hires
  • Provide staff training and support
  • Handle daily operations, scheduling, and financials
  • Ensure program compliance with DMH, DDRB, and Medicaid Waiver regulations
  • Manage staff schedules, payroll, and more

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 1 year of management experience (3 years preferred)
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Driver’s License and ability to drive a large van

Physical Demands:

  • Assist participants with mobility and hygiene needs
  • Lift up to 50lbs occasionally and 20lbs frequently
  • Drive and assist participants in and out of vans
