Summary Of Position

The Regional Lean Manufacturing Manager is accountable for developing and implementing the Techniplas Operating System. This role will actively drive a transformation in the current operating system across the regional operations by working with leadership to establish an effective implementation strategy, influencing operations planning and execution. The Director of Lean Mfg. & OPEX will lead the team to achieve its improvement and cost savings goals in alignment with our operational strategy.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Define strategy and implementation plan for Techniplas operating system.
  • Manage a team of lean practitioners to support operating system and strategy deployment.
  • Provide monthly updates to leadership on plan progress and the associated savings/value aligned with our strategic objectives.
  • Drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics.
  • Optimize operational throughput as well as improve YOY productivity.
  • Apply Lean tools to eliminate waste, improve process capability and reduce process and product variation.
  • Lead complex systems-level projects across the operations.
  • Match capacity to demand as well as work closely with the sales force to increase demand as well as incorporate feedback into the operations.
  • Act as an advisor to subordinate supervisors, or staff members in all matters of Operational Excellence.
  • Develop a practical training program that provides education and coaching in Lean production, management systems and process knowledge to local and regional personnel.
  • Coach, drive and lead lean behaviors, principles, and tools by partnering with Operating Leaders in business management roles.
  • Develop and sustain a lean culture using various lean tools with a focus on achieving world-class safety and manufacturing performance.
  • Serve as an internal change agent in institutionalizing Lean methodology.
  • Lead and support various fact-based problem-solving sessions using lean tools and long-term follow-up to ensure sustainment of results.
  • Create the business processes to manage, measure, and govern all C.I. activity across all manufacturing plants, service centers, and support functions within Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Science, Technology, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering) and six years of related manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience facilitating/coordinating/coaching and mentoring Lean Six Sigma or lean workshop/kaizen
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Black Belt Certified preferred.
  • A proven track record of change facilitation and deployment of Lean thinking and a Lean-based Management System
  • Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to teach and coach Lean leadership principles and behaviors including servant leadership, Lean daily management routines including the use of visual management.
  • Abillity to work across cultures to build and inspire teams to work together
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to drill to root cause and arrive at rational solutions as well as bring along the team to these conclusions
  • Skills in planning, organizing, developing manufacturing operations budgets and identifying opportunities
  • Highly effective leader who can create a shared vision, energize others, challenge the status quo and drive change
  • Strong customer service mindset with ability to enhance internal/external customer relationships
