Release Analyst

The Release Analyst will be responsible for delivering software products and digital content to existing and new distribution channels, working with both internal teams and external vendors. The Release Analyst manages the release lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and management of releases for multiple applications across various portfolios.

The Release Analyst works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments, and manages the process between product certification and submission, ensuring software and content meets quality standards, requirements and guidelines, and is delivered against committed timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the submission and publishing process of all Magnopus apps and content to existing and new distribution channels, for both internal and external products
  • Create and maintain documentation for all parts of the submission process, including initial product set up in developer portals, platform feature implementation, OS and device coverage, and documents for gathering submission requirements and materials
  • Develop relationships with 1st party distribution partners and their technical and accreditation teams whenever possible
  • Provide optimized device target information to Production teams based on development needs for contracts to ensure coverage and quality
  • Research device specifications and work with the device management team to ensure necessary devices are procured and added to our library in time for QA and Production needs
  • Maintain expertise regarding storefront best practices, to help internal teams create and utilize effective metadata and art assets to ensure best placement of their products in the storefronts
  • Create and provide App IDs and signature files, and partner with IT/Engineering to set up and maintain build pipelines, implement version control protocols, and streamline uploads from the pipeline to the developer portals
  • Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to implement platform features like In-App Purchase, Push Notifications, Sandbox environments and testers, etc
  • Act as liaison between platform/storefront representatives and internal partners to provide the most up to date requirements, platform features, OS releases, device trends, etc to Engineering, Production, QA and Leadership teams
  • Monitor status of submitted content, communicate results to stakeholders in a timely fashion, and publish content to the storefronts according to agreed upon release dates
  • Coordinate with marketing leads and executives to support product distribution plans related to product release, marketing campaigns, events, and specific device coverage
  • Perform evaluations of new storefront requirements to measure level of work necessary in development, operations or production to support a distribution channel
  • Identify process and tool improvements in order to increase productivity and capacity
  • Evaluate established processes to ensure the highest level of accuracy and efficiency


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 2-4 years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams toward task completion
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • General knowledge of PC and Mac, Google Suite/Workspace, Confluence and JIRA a must


Nice to Haves

  • Preferably 2+ years experience within mobile development or a similar industry, such as web, software, or games
  • Knowledge of iOS and Android mobile technologies, platforms and devices is a plus
