The Opportunity

We seek a Jr. Underwriter to assist underwriters and perform underwriting reviews of residential investors and investor loans.

You Will Contribute To The Underwriting Department By

  • Preparing files to be reviewed by an Underwriter
  • Recognizing when an account deviates from the norm
  • Completing underwriting functions in accordance with various program requirements, Company standards, and related legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring loans are in compliance with guidelines, standard operating procedures and internal processes
  • Ensuring lending conditions have been satisfactorily met prior to closing
  • Reviewing documents to detect and prevent fraud
  • Evaluating and assessing the collateral and capacity of loans
  • Verifying purchase contract documentation and resolving routine issues including vesting issues and other document discrepancies
  • Reviewing appraisals and ensuring that risks are appropriate and meet all guidelines of the applicable loan type
  • Reviewing corporate documentation for entity borrowers
  • Researching property taxes to determine appropriate escrows
  • Reviewing title commitments to ensure policies meet investor and company guidelines
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Complying with all applicable lending laws and regulations
  • Collaborating with departments across the organization to foster a streamlined process and drive quality improvement
  • Completing other responsibilities and duties as assigned based on business needs
  • Available Remote Locations: AL, AZ, FL, GA, IL, IA, IN, KS, KY, LA, MO, NC, OH, SC, TX, UT, WI
  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm CST
  • Salary Range: $23.50 - $25.00/hr (Non-Exempt/Hourly/Overtime Eligible)

What We Are Looking For

  • Someone with 1 year of experience working in a mortgage or title environment
  • Someone who is a motivated self-starter, organized, disciplined, and service-oriented attitude
  • Someone with knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, and Excel
  • Someone with attention to detail & accuracy
  • Someone with the ability to handle a pipeline and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Someone who is proactive and can work independently
  • Someone with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Internal Applicants: 6 months of Visio Lending work experience which includes no disciplinary actions within the last 3 months. Current manager notification is needed in order to apply for a vacant position. Any applicant that does not meet these conditions will require approval from the executive team member over the hiring department prior to extending a job offer

What We Prefer To Find

  • Someone with 2 years of experience working in a mortgage or title environment, preferably in a quality control, title agency, or underwriting environment
  • Someone with an Associate and/or Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related industry area major
  • Someone who has experience with Calyx Point
