MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for gathering materials and labor cost information from the vendors and Industrial Engineering Departments and processing the estimate forms.

• Responsible for selecting optimum costs/prices to meet competitive situations in the marketplace.

• Will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and vendors when questions arise as to final quoted costs, etc.

• Responsible to communicate with appropriate departments when determining quoted lead times. • Will be responsible to consistently realize high levels of accuracy and detail in estimating projects. • Responsible for setting up and monitoring files on all projects.

• Process "re-run" projects in an expeditious manner and allow quick turn-around based on review of results from past order run.

• Will put forth effort to suggest cost reductions and suggest alternative processes, etc. on new projects.

• Will furnish budgetary information as requested by Sales/Marketing.

• Contact suppliers as needed to obtain information and prices for estimating projects.

• Develop standard data to quickly estimate projects.

• Review and interpret customer blueprints and other documentation to prepare estimates

• Obtain quotes from suppliers for materials, components and special process requirements.

• Determine manufacturing steps/processes, equipment requirements, programming requirements, setup operations, material, labor, and other items necessary to perform work.

• Work with sales, production, engineering and prototype departments to obtain information to provide accurate quotes and lead times.

• Prepares reports as needed.

•Fill in design gaps for incomplete documents for the completion of estimates.

• Build/maintain relationships with vendors and sub-contractors.

• Verify that all project specific documents RFQ’s have been reviewed thoroughly prior to submission to Sales.

• Update labor and container rates to reflect most current.

• Ability to understand technical drawings

• Knowledge of various manufacturing methods and processes


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• BA; preferably in Project Management, Engineering, Business Development

• 3+ years of estimating experience in a retail store (or equivalent) fixture environment preferably in the steel or wood manufacturing industry

• Familiarity and experience in importing products from overseas


ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to manage the performance of direct reports to achieve corporate goals

• Excellent knowledge of the Company’s industry and trends impacting business

• Ability to strategically manage client’s expectations through the proposal process

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings engineering drawings and prepare material take-offs when required

• Ability to comprehend and perform business math calculations necessary to accurately prepare job estimates and quotes and calculate gross profit margins and associated costs.

• In-depth knowledge of retail store fixtures

• Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to build trust and influence others

• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with core values while maintaining a "value added" approach to business development.

• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate to varied audiences.

• Solid computer skills MS Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
