Adamantine Energy works with clients ranging from Fortune 10 energy companies to non-profits on understanding and managing political, regulatory, community, and investor risk in the energy business. We also work with our clients on their real sustainability strategy, including environmental, social, and governance (ESG) planning and decarbonization plans. Our consultancy is seeking a full-time Research Analyst for remote work. Adamantine Energy is looking for qualified candidates located in the following states: Colorado, District of Columbia, New York, and Texas.

 

We are seeking a junior level hire to help us research and monitor trends and data in energy, decarbonization technology, public opinion, investor sentiment, and public policy to inform our strategic thinking and client projects. The successful candidate will also support our team in drafting memos, managing event logistics, supporting meeting preparation and execution, and executing project tasks. This role participates in in-person and remote prospective client, partner, and client meetings and calls to support project manager success.


Candidates should be eager to learn, highly motivated, extremely well organized, and show a keen interest in problem-solving and high-level thinking.  Candidates should have an ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team, have an interest in research and policy development, possess excellent writing skills and experience writing for external publications, and be proficient in the Microsoft office suite of projects.  Knowledge and experience in the energy field, particularly oil and gas are beneficial. 


The role will grow the candidate’s knowledge of energy development, federal and state regulatory frameworks, policy development, stakeholder engagement, legislative activity, investment trends, social risk mitigation, public outreach, ESG reporting, and other developing trends related to energy projects.


The role will report to a one of the company directors with an opportunity to work with a dynamic and supportive team. Work will be largely self-directed, and the candidate will work remotely in a home office with regular Colorado in-person meetings and a willingness to travel as project and company work requires.

 

Anticipated responsibilities:

  • Research legislative, regulatory, and political trends pertaining to energy development
  • Support client projects through drafting associated activities, deliverables, and tracking project tasks.
  • Mine data from publicly available sources to support and create client deliverables such as graphs, visuals, and memos 
  • Monitor local, state, and federal policy and regulatory developments
  • Research decarbonization technology developments
  • Support data analysis for client projects
  • Monitor social media for developing trends
  • Drafting memos and summaries focused on political or regulatory environments
  • Bring your vision, ideas, creativity, and work ethic to building a company of which we will all be proud


Recommended skills & qualifications:

·      Bachelor’s Degree in policy, engineering, data science, environmental or earth sciences, or other related field, or related work experience.

·      2 years of experience in energy or energy policy, or graduate level research experience

·      Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects

·      Interest in research, policy analysis, and strategic thinking

·      Demonstrated ability to work independently to understand team needs, meet project milestones, and complete project on time

·      Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team

·      High-level Excel proficiency

·      Graphing

·      Data analytics

·      Understanding of a range of research and evaluation methodologies

·      Excellent writing skills and experience writing for external publications (websites, reports, newsletters)

·      Data analytic software experience

·      Mapping/GIS (optional)

·      Air quality analysis knowledge

·      Environmental or infrastructure permitting

·      Renewable energy knowledge

·      Upstream and midstream oil and gas infrastructure knowledge

·      Federal energy policy knowledge
