Job Summary: The Retail Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring top talent for retail positions within the organization, including store associates, managers, and support roles. This role requires a deep understanding of the retail industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Retail Recruiter collaborates closely with store managers and HR teams to develop and execute recruitment strategies that align with the organization’s retail goals and ensure a steady pipeline of qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Recruitment:
    • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for retail positions, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
    • Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to attract a diverse pool of candidates for roles such as sales associates, store managers, cashiers, and other retail staff.
    • Conduct initial screenings and interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Collaboration with Store Managers:
    • Partner with store managers to understand the specific staffing needs of each location, including peak season requirements and turnover trends.
    • Provide guidance on best practices for interviewing and selecting candidates within the retail sector.
    • Regularly update store managers on the progress of open positions and provide insights on the candidate market.
  • Candidate Experience:
    • Ensure a positive candidate experience by maintaining clear and timely communication throughout the recruitment process.
    • Provide candidates with detailed information about the company, its retail operations, and the specific role they are applying for.
    • Manage the offer process, including salary negotiation, and ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
  • Market Research and Insights:
    • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, salary benchmarks, and the availability of retail talent.
    • Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to store managers and HR leadership to help inform recruitment strategies.
    • Stay updated on the latest recruitment tools, technologies, and best practices specific to retail recruitment.
  • Employer Branding:
    • Collaborate with the HR and marketing teams to promote the company’s employer brand within the retail community.
    • Represent the company at industry events, job fairs, and networking functions to attract top retail talent.
    • Create and share content that highlights the company’s culture, values, and career opportunities in retail on various platforms.
  • Data and Reporting:
    • Track and analyze key recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire, to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on recruitment activities, candidate pipelines, and hiring outcomes for HR leadership and business stakeholders.
    • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve recruitment processes and decision-making.
  • Compliance and Record Keeping:
    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations throughout the recruitment process.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of candidate interactions and recruitment activities in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
    • Assist in preparing compliance reports, such as EEO-1 and other regulatory filings, as required.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Continuously seek opportunities to improve recruitment processes, leveraging feedback from store managers and candidates.
    • Participate in professional development and training to enhance recruitment skills and knowledge specific to the retail industry.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of new recruitment strategies and tools.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in recruitment, with a focus on retail roles.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, including store management, customer service, and sales.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective recruitment strategies for retail positions.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
