About Movu US
The warehouse of the future is equipped with our iFollow autonomous robots instead of forklifts and our Atlas 2D pallet shuttles or eScala tote shuttles that allow for high-density storage (no wasted space!) and scalable solutions.
As part of stow Group and over the span of more than 40 years, we’ve grown into a company with 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and the know-how of around 2000 employees serving customers in 40 countries.
Early 2021, we opened our US Office and have already grown to 45 people. It's exciting times to be at Movu! (pronounced Mow-voo)
Important to know
For the first 18 months or so, you may predominantly be working on a large project we have in Lima, OH. If you prefer, we'd be happy to help you relocate there. Alternatively, the travel schedule will be 70-100% on-site each workweek.
There will be some occasions where we'd ask you to work over the weekend (such as during the go-live phase). However, we want all of our employees to have a good work-life balance and not be away for prolonged periods.
The mission
The COMMISSIONING/SERVICE ENGINEER is an integral person in helping our customer’s vision for an automated storage solution from Movu US come to life. The core objective is to commission autonomous mobile robots and pallet/bin shuttles and integrate them with the customer’s warehouse operations.
Solutions: Fully automated storage solutions including pallet shuttles (atlas), tote shuttles (escala), automated mobile robots (ifollow), as well as our picking robot (eligo) and ancillary systems such as conveyors and lifts.
As our COMMISSIONING ENGINEER, you...
are responsible for the setup, configuration, interfacing, and integration of the automated warehouse system
interface with Warehouse Control System and Warehouse Management System and integrate them into the customer’s warehouse and IT systems
are responsible for the complete commissioning process until the project has been signed off by the customer
are responsible for PLC software configuration and live testing (we use Beckhoff)
work on electrical, mechanical, PLCs software (TCP/IP), sensors and safety devices
work at a variety of customer sites, including cold storage facilities, and sometimes at heights (climbing on a rack with the appropriate safety gear/measures)
perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of the technical installations at customer sites and proactively find solutions
create and implement test procedures and technical reports
provide technical support, on-site and remotely
train the integrators, customer’s maintenance and operative staff
share technical knowledge with team members and participate in training
detect commercial Service opportunities at current clients
This is how we know you're up for the job
3+ years of experience installing/commissioning automated systems, ideally in the material handling/automation/robotics field
Strong working knowledge of electromechanical systems, sensors, and PLCs (any type)
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Engineering, ideally Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or Controls Engineering is a plus but not required if you bring relevant work experience as described above
Affinity with software is preferred
You’re willing and able to travel to project sites across the United States and Canada consistently; typically, the workweek is Monday-Friday but occasional weekend or evening work may be required, especially during the go-live phase. The travel percentage will vary depending on project lifecycle, it should average at 80% across the year. With some exceptions as needed, you will always be able to travel home each weekend.
You either live in vicinity of a major airport with direct flights to Columbus/Dayton/Toledo, OH; or you live in driving distance to Lima, OH.
For onboarding and training, travel for training and onboarding to our Romeoville, IL office and possibly also to our headquarters in Belgium (usually no more than 2 weeks at a time)
We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. If you love starting your workday mid-morning or later, you would hate it here.
