SUMMARY:

In this role, you will work directly for the EHS Manager. The position would require an individual who is well versed in safety and environmental regulations, possesses proficient computer skills, displays a great attitude with a team mentality, and is an effective communicator. Their job responsibilities would consist of, but will not be limited to:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implements, manages and monitors EHS programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA, EPA, and other applicable requirements.
  • Evaluates the organization's EHS programs, policies, procedures, and facilities by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions or practices and implement best safeguards and solutions.
  • Fosters a culture of safety responsibilities by ensuring the operating companies adhere to current regulations and equipping employees with knowledge and skills to follow safe practices.
  • Collects data and reports on all safety and accident events.
  • May have additional responsibility for fire prevention, hazardous waste management, resource conservation, or other safety related activities depending on the industry and location.
  • Manages accountabilities in the administration of first- and third-party worker's compensation claims.
  • Manages claim management strategies critical to the organization's success.
  • Responsible for reporting, investigation, and analysis; litigation management; resolution/outcome management; and the delivery of claim information.
  • Primary member of THOR Environmental Affairs Office responsible for implementation of Environmental Management System across the company.
  • Lead support to operating companies with environmental affairs and data collection for accurate reporting to various government agencies.
  • Advise THOR leadership on environmental matters across the company.
  • Track all operating companies air, storm water, drinking water, and hazardous waste permits.
  • Ensure quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports are submitted timely and accurately.
  • Conduct storm water testing for required operating companies and obtain/submit quarterly and annual compliance paperwork to the respective state.
  • Once a drinking water certification has been obtained, conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual drinking water testing for required operating company and obtain/submit necessary paperwork to the respective state.
  • Conduct required trainings at each operating company, including Storm Water Pollution Prevention (SWPP), Contingency/EAP, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Spray training
  • Conduct permit audits at each operating company
  • Conduct chemical inventory audits at each operating company
  • Assist any operating company with environmental issues/solutions


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relative field preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental compliance requirements
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to safety and environmental compliance
