Safety Manager - Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)
About The Role
We're seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team and lead our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives. In this pivotal role, you'll be the champion of safety, ensuring our workplace is not just compliant, but a model of best practices in EHS.
What You'll Do
Provide visionary leadership in EHS, developing and implementing policies that keep us ahead of the curve in compliance and safety standards.
Collaborate with location managers to create a culture of safety, where every team member is empowered to contribute to our safe operating practices.
Lead incident investigations with a focus on root cause analysis and preventative measures, turning challenges into opportunities for improvement.
Design and deliver engaging EHS training programs that resonate with our team and drive real behavioral change.
Conduct site inspections with a keen eye, identifying potential hazards and spearheading corrective actions.
Manage our EHS compliance calendar, ensuring we're always prepared and proactive in meeting our regulatory obligations.
Take charge of emergency response planning, including coordinating drills and training to keep our team ready for any situation.
Analyze EHS data to identify trends, presenting insights to leadership that drive strategic decision-making.
Oversee environmental compliance programs, managing permits and reports with meticulous attention to detail.
Act as our EHS expert on capital projects, reviewing plans to ensure safety is built into every aspect of our operations.
Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into all facets of our business.
What You'll Bring
A Bachelor's degree in EHS or a related scientific field is highly desired. We'll also consider candidates with 10+ years of hands-on EHS experience.
At least 5 years of experience in EHS, preferably in manufacturing, facilities management, or research laboratory settings.
Professional certifications such as GSP, ASP, or CSP are a plus.
Deep understanding of EHS regulations, especially OSHA and EPA laws.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities.
Proficiency in technical writing, negotiation, conflict resolution, and training.
Experience with EHS management systems and data analysis tools.

Work Environment
Primarily office-based with regular visits to warehouse and manufacturing areas.
Occasional work in laboratory settings.
Some domestic travel (2-3 trips per year) for training or inter-facility coordination.
