Cake Freight is currently seeking a highly experienced, innovative, and creative Sales Leader to join our 3PL logistics management startup for our National Sales Division. In this role you will work directly with our CEO.

This is an opportunity for a results-oriented candidate who has a deep understanding of sales leadership, client influence, and closing strong partnership deals. In short, we are an innovative startup with industry experience that spans over 40 combined years. Our CEO alone has 23 years of experience and has scaled a very successful 3PL for his former company, and this time is doing it on his own terms. Our team is our secret weapon, and we are battle-tested!


We are looking for a Sales Leader who will join our team and has the capabilities to directly contribute to our bottom line within the first 30-90 days… Our focus is on high-level contributors who can work with us and have a direct impact on the revenue in a quick-start fashion. We're lean, mean, nimble, and fast to start. This is an opportunity at the ground level, and you will be rewarded if you can match our passion to build and execute.


The Leader we seek to partner with must have an incredible amount of influence and client connections, and the ability to convert clients with a minimum of $50k monthly GP at a 12% or greater margin.


We’re serious and we are putting equity on the table for a few key original-thinking contributors that join our team and contribute to the initial buildout.


We’re big on personal branding, our ideal Sales Leader will have a robust LinkedIn presence, following, and an in-depth understanding of sales, marketing and content creation. We’re looking for individuals who understand the value of personal branding, client engagement, and providing our network of connections with solid marketing and messaging that reflects positively on our clients and teammates. We want brand ambassadors and subject matter experts.

About You: You’re a highly experienced truckload logistics expert —a self-starter with a proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing business with a minimum of $5M in annual revenue, congruently. You’ve created your own personal brand and image within the full truckload 3PL sector and are interested in a role offering more independence and the opportunity to build a diverse client-partnership network. You’re keenly interested in partnering


with a company driven by original thinking and fresh ideas while knowing you can contribute and make a significant impact on the business as a key contributor and you sense there is a better model out there.

Job responsibilities:


• Onboard new business directly with key stakeholders and decision makers


• Innovate fresh sales strategies for targeted demographics of clientele


• Lead daily sales strategy planning huddles and coaching


• Coordinate, direct and manage all aspects of the sales cycle from incoming or outbound lead


generation through to contract closure.


• Team Development - Recruiting strategies/implementation/Leadership


• Collaborate across multiple departments and cultivate positive internal relationships


• Identify, target, and secure new business through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities.


• Drive results through strategic business plan activities and relationship management


• Develop and manage key internal and external cross-functional relationships, including senior


leadership


• Maintain ongoing pipeline strategies of newly targeted business opportunities and accounts.


• Identify, engage, and procure new talent to build the National Business Development Team.


• Assist in developing case studies, blog posts, email campaigns, thought leadership articles, and marketing collateral materials.


Requirements:


• Five + years minimum experience in truckload 3PL logistics sales (This is a must)


• Bachelors or an MBA -


• Deep understanding of market analysis and CRM funnel sales strategies (Hubspot)


• Proven sales track record of $5M+ of Annual Revenue


• Assisted in marketing and inside sales teams with lead generation efforts, message positioning, and prospect development efforts.


• Proven competence in a highly consultative sales environment


• Proven C-level sales relationship development experience.


• Excellent negotiation, organizational, analytical, verbal, and written skills


• Adopt our Organizational Operating System (EOS) and implement within the sales leadership function.


• Align KPI, Metric’s and quarterly objectives into weekly/daily measured initiatives


• Leadership Management Accountability


Compensation:


This position has a competitive base + commission plus profit share structure with comprehensive medical benefits. We are also offering equity to the first director level team members.
