Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sales & Event Manager will be responsible and accountable for securing new business and planning events for the arena.

SCOPE:

Together with the Sales Team, General Manager, Production department, Event staff, and various team members as required, the Sales & Event Manager will prepare proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders for clients. Build and maintain close working relationships with local DMCs and Hotel Sales and Catering teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish market and target customer strategies for the company.
  • Drive the sales for the event department by securing social and corporate events.
  • Responsible for monthly and annual budget and the implementation of strategies to maximize revenues.
  • Prepare and analyze daily, monthly and annual budget, expense, and payroll forecasts in order to meet specific departmental guidelines and goals
  • Ensure effective communication between sales department and operating departments to ensure full group satisfaction from arrival to departure.
  • Foster relationships and maintain positive, open communication with other departments to promote smooth, efficient operations
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships to ensure products and services received meet ESALV standards
  • Resolve customer complaints and/or concerns by conducting thorough research of the situation and utilizing the most effective solutions
  • Promote Esports Las Vegas by interacting with patrons in an enthusiastic, helpful and friendly manner
  • Assists team with providing overall direction of the banquets, including planning, organizing, execution and evaluation of all banquet functions
  • Works closely with the Executive Chef on menu planning and pricing
  • Discusses menus, service, prices and set-ups with clients; ensures that client commitments are properly followed up on

Responsible for proper scheduling of employees to ensure a high level of guest service while maintaining control of labor costs

  • Provides adequate training and tools for employees so they may effectively perform necessary job duties
  • Makes frequent inspections to maintain proper standards of storing, handling and maintenance of equipment, ensures that all function areas are kept clean and in proper condition to provide a safe working environment for employees
  • Make suggestions on how to make the venue more competitive by up-grading services and/or equipment, new methods of selling, as well as, upselling of menu and non-traditional use of space

KEY SUCCESS INDICATORS:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of sales experience
  • Minimum of 1+ years of event planning experience
  • Computer savvy; proficient in MS Office
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities
  • Customer-service orientation
  • A team player with leadership skills
