Summary: The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to support the process sciences, analytical development, and data science teams with running off-line analytical assays, and the development and implementation of process analytical technologies (PAT) for in-line monitoring and real-time control of mRNA therapeutics production

Essential Functions

• Run common off-line biochemistry assays, including capillary gel electrophoresis, liquid chromatography (HPLC, UPLC, LC/MS), UV/Vis spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, fluorescence, light scattering (DLS, MALS), and qPCR.

• Identify and monitor critical quality attributes (CQA) in the mRNA process, and support process science engineers with sample collection and analysis of stat samples during production runs.

• Contribute to the review of research papers and current literature to propose novel techniques for process improvement and optimization. Participate in technology scouting, feasibility testing, and benchmarking of proposed techniques against current methods.

• Document raw data in electronic databases and written notebooks following QA-defined best practices, and compile results for communication with internal and external partners on a routine basis

Experience and Skills

• Expertise in running biochemistry assays and maintaining analytical instruments and in analyzing the resulting data.

• Demonstrated understanding in the theories and principles of analytical chemistry and biochemistry.

• Desire to learn and advance existing skills, with a proven track record of critical thinking and problem solving.

• Self-motivated, ability to work independently, strong work ethic, attention to detail, can be flexible with changing priorities.
