The segment strategy manager is the internal subject matter expert for the foodservice equipment service professional, responsible for researching and understanding the customer needs, developing go-to-market strategies to grow the segment, and monitoring segment performance within the business and ensuring DFS has a growth strategy to grow market share.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop the go to market strategy for the service pro segment with sales and profitability forecasts
Research the Service Professional segment to understand customer needs through primary and secondary research methods including customer visits, sales team collaboration, customer focus groups/councils, market research agencies, industry organization participation and other methods
Research the competitive landscape to understand capabilities of key competitors and identify white space (gaps) for DFS relative to the segment
Provide product assortment, pricing and service recommendations to better meet customer needs and create differentiated value
Provide strategic input to Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Ecommerce, and Customer Service planning as the customer segment advocate to ensure we are aligned to servicing the needs of the customer segment
In collaboration with Sales and Marketing, develop strategies to acquire and nurture new Service Professional customers
In collaboration with Sales and Marketing, understand current state of existing customers and develop strategies to reactivate, grow share, and increase frequency of customer purchasing
Develop Account-Based Marketing strategies to grow awareness and build loyalty among large customers and customer organizations
Monitor customer performance and provide reporting on overall state of Service Professional customer segment; present to partner organizations and leadership as needed
Document customer segment knowledge and strategies; develop and lead training as needed

Education Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Marketing or related field (4+ years related work experience may be substituted for degree)
Required Qualifications:
At least five years of experience in marketing strategy, sales strategy, or business strategy roles
At least three years of experience with companies in B2B distribution or B2B product sales
Proven experience in the development of go-to-market strategies for B2B customers
Proven background improving or optimizing business performance by target segment
Research driven mindset and intellectual curiosity
Data-driven decision making
Creative problem solving
Strong project management/organizational skills
Must have the ability to travel up to 25%
