Senior Accountant

A well known non-profit organization is looking to expand their staff by hiring multiple Senior Accountants. A qualified candidate will have 1+ years of non-profit accounting experiencing along with 3+ years of general accounting experience. The position reports directly into the VP of Finance who has been with the company for over 15 years now. The accounting department runs rather flat, where there is a rotation of responsibilities, which keeps the work fresh and helps to promote an environment of growth and success. The company works on a hybrid schedule (right in midtown) and offers generous benefits.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts
• Assist with preparing annual budget, working with multiple departments
• Analyze and reconcile financial reports and records
• Help with all closings
• Direct junior staff members

Qualifications

• 3+ years' of professional accounting experience
• 1 year of non-profit experience is required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
• Strong Excel skills
• Understanding of GAAP
• Experience with Oracle and Salesforce a plus
