Job Summary
Client Accounting Department is seeking a Senior Accountant to play an integral role in supporting the team scale with the growth and complexity of a company on the cutting edge of the Financial Technology industry. The right person for this role is an outstanding communicator, sets a high bar for him/herself and their work product, has strong leadership skills, is proactive and intellectually curious and can effectively problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
The qualified individual would be responsible for assisting in the reconciliation of cardholder funding sources and usage for Client Bank. This role will specifically be primarily responsible for the daily reconciliation of Client Bank related accounts or activity, including:
Gathering and validating all funding sources and usage transaction
Importing and matching all transactions in the reconciliation system
Research and analysis of all non-matching or reconciling items
Responsible for assisting with consolidated accounting, principally for revenue recognition accounting and related transactional expenses including journal entries (daily, weekly, monthly, ad hoc, etc.), account reconciliations, and collaboration with other internal teams
Prepare journal entries by analyzing and interpreting financial transactions
Identify and establish key metrics and analytics (daily, weekly, monthly or annual) to assist with the monitoring of the recorded results throughout the month and as part of the month-end close process
Contribute to the month/quarter/year-end close process, including internal control related aspects and internal/external audit deliverables
Assist with other areas of the Accounting team, including enhancements to documentation (month-end account reconciliations, internal control documentation etc.), as well as research of accounting standards and preparation of accounting treatment memos
Identify improvements for existing processes and internal/external systems through collaboration with other departments
Support team with special projects and process improvements
Perform other duties as needed
Skills/Experience
Job Requirements
Strong understanding of US GAAP and foundational accounting concepts (such as debits and credits)
Bachelors degree in accounting or finance
Public Accounting Experience Required
Minimum of 3 years of accounting or reconciliation experience
Big 4/Big 8 Public Accounting Experience Preferred
Additional private accounting experience, including general ledger, account reconciliations, internal controls and variance analysis, is preferred.
CPA license is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and various departments within the company
Capable of handling multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment
Detail oriented with good problem solving and analytical skills
Advanced Excel skills, with interest and aptitude to work with large amounts of data
Knowledge and experience with a large-scale ERP, preferably Oracle Financials
