Job Summary:

SmithRx's finance team is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to continue building and developing our Accounts Receivable function. This individual will have a wide span of responsibilities including the creation and execution of effective and streamlined collections processes, financial reporting, revenue and AR accounting operations, revenue recognition policies, internal controls, and process improvements. This position will also assist with general ledger, technical accounting, tax, and audit activities.

What you will do at SmithRx:

  • Evolve and mature cash application and collection processes with automation.
  • Establish AR aging and DSO goals and track progress.
  • Lead the maintenance and reconciliation of the AR and revenue cycle accounts, financial statement review, and reporting on a monthly basis along with other month-end close activities.
  • Prepare analysis of financial and operational metrics, U.S. GAAP reporting, management reporting, and other compliance reporting.
  • Manage relationships with customers and partners while addressing customer billing issues and questions.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on revenue recognition and related accounting policies under ASC 606, providing business support on their interpretation and application.
  • Research accounting issues, perform technical accounting analyses, and implement new accounting guidance.
  • Assist with the annual financial statement audit as well as tax and regulatory filings as needed.
  • Lead strategic financial projects including implementation of new accounting systems and tools.
  • Identify, develop, and implement procedural and system changes to increase accuracy, efficiency and controls.

What you will bring to SmithRx:

  • 8+ years of combined Public and Private company experience in revenue and AR operations.
  • Startup experience, where you thrived in a fast-paced environment, is a plus.
  • Experience in healthcare or similar industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of ASC 606.
  • Possesses strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to articulate complex subject matter to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficient with key financial tools and ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred) as well as Microsoft Office (Excel).
  • Licensed CPA, or CPA licensure in progress.
