We're proud to be a part of this team helping California meet its critical climate goals!
On September 11, 2024 the California Energy Commission (CEC) unanimously approved the 2025 California Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6). The Statewide Codes and Standards Enhancement (CASE) Team is proud to have supported the CEC throughout the code cycle in developing new and revised code requirements that represent a significant milestone in the state’s continued efforts to meet critical energy and climate goals. The 2025 code is expected to result in an annual statewide energy savings of 404 GWh of electricity and 35 million therms of natural gas. It will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 177,000 metric tons CO2e per year, which is equivalent to the emissions from 42,126 cars. The 2025 code will also support building decarbonization, load management, and grid resiliency. Demand flexibility is what will enable our grid to be nimble and intelligent with energy use and production. It bring together #energyefficiency, emerging technologies, and #renewables to maximize our success. We're celebrating to raise awareness of what it can do for distributed energy production and consumption: align us with cheaper prices, #cleanenergy production, and climate goals!
