Position Summary

Elektrofi is seeking a motivated individual to join our biotech company as a Senior Coordinator of Logistics and Distribution to join our Supply Chain team in supporting the development of the novel Elektrofi formulation platform. This individual will join a growing, multidisciplinary team of scientists/engineers and industry professionals to help enhance and increase capabilities in the shipping, receiving and material control areas of the company. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Head of Supply Chain, this role will focus on supporting the operations and laboratory teams by ensuring a consistent flow of material through our facilities, meeting both our internal needs and the needs of our partners and CDMO infrastructure. This role will respond effectively to evolving business needs, be responsible for arranging all shipments and material receipts, and ensuring the necessary compliance elements are in place. Successful applicants will have prior understanding of all required documentation, maintaining adherence to import/export regulations and the ability to interact effectively with third party providers and internal stakeholders. This role provides the opportunity to gain experience developing procedures and processes as we build out the material operations platform, partnering with their supervisor on the implementation of metrics or other KPIs to ensure the continuing health and scalability of our operations. Candidates should have a high degree of diligence to ensure shipments and receipts are done “right first time.”


Key Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform all duties in keeping with the Company’s core values, policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Independently manage and oversee the daily shipments and receipts of materials to and from the Elektrofi network ensuring compliant and timely processing/delivery.
  • Point of contact to schedule and coordinate international and domestic shipments, including pick up, transportation, customs clearance, delivery and customer service.
  • Ensure that designated couriers, carriers, partners and/or CDMOs are aware of upcoming shipments.
  • Work cross functionally with Quality Assurance, Tech Ops, Discovery, Development, Analytics, Facilities, and Finance to ensure shipments and receipts are coordinated and on track to meet delivery dates.
  • Represent the Logistics & Distribution function to the company and provide awareness, training, and guidance to support individuals and stakeholders as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Project Management and Quality Assurance to ensure that all necessary documentation and information can be produced accurately and implement a “Shipping/Receiving readiness” process with our external partners and CDMOs.
  • Own the completion of shipping documents, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and submit them as required to couriers and/or IOR partners for review and approval.
  • Own the completion of receiving documents, including the archiving of records in concert with Quality Assurance and Finance to ensure both quality and fiscal compliance.
  • Complete any temperature data reviews, retrieve receipt paperwork and required documents (such as certificates of analysis/conformance) and obtain proof of delivery where necessary to resolve issues.
  • Support the business with ad-hoc tasks and projects to meet evolving business requirements.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years of experience in logistics or material handling environment or 5+ years in a life sciences logistics or material handling environment required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/Logistics or Business Management preferred.
  • Experience in international distribution within the Biopharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry.
  • Experience in a cGMP, GLP, and/or GDP environment.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to contribute to and author compliant standard operating procedures.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of international and domestic transportation operations as well as import/export customs handling.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to independently see tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Smartsheet or related computer skills.
  • Hazardous materials handling experience and DOT / IATA training strongly preferred.
