Senior Copywriter

Summary/Objective: 

The Senior Copywriter is someone who writes brand material, sales and marketing content for advertisement purposes, and edits or publishes content written by other copywriters. This role is also responsible for maintaining brand consistency throughout the appropriate channels with the ultimate goal to create informative and compelling content about a brand, product or service of a company. The Senior Copywriter will partner with the Senior Art Director to create engaging campaigns and work across various clients, and manage both the full-time copywriters as well as all freelance copywriters.


Qualifications: 


  • 6 years’ experience in the creative industry, marketing, agency, or combination 
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism or some relevant field
  • Management experience preferred
  • Prior experience as a Copywriter, Senior Copywriter or a similar role
  • Exceptional writing as well as editing skills
  • Experience thinking strategically as a content strategist
  • Ability to create small creative texts (e.g. social media posts) as well as large content pieces (e.g. product descriptions)
  • Experience with a content management system (e.g. WordPress)
  • Experience with keyword research and content optimization
  • Proficiency in English
  • Strong verbal as well as written communication skills
  • An analytical mind with a keen eye for details
  • Participate in the process of hiring, training, assigning, scheduling, and mentoring staff
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales divisions in creating marketing plans and aligning team priorities with business objectives so that high-quality work is delivered on time and on budget 
  • Be in the know about current creative and market trends
  • Strong creative portfolio, highlighting expertise in all areas
  • Organizational ability to manage multiple clients and simultaneously 
  • Strong ability to present decisions clearly and effectively, both internally and externally to clients
  • Solid work ethic and personal accountability


Responsibilities: 


  • Researching on topics related to industry and also identifying areas for improvement in our existing content
  • Preparing and publishing articles about our company’s products and services
  • Writing original copy for social media and ads
  • Editing and reviewing content generated by other copywriters
  • Monitoring content-related metrics (e.g. web traffic, conversion rates etc.)
  • Ensuring that our content is updated with latest company news
  • Creating as well as overseeing weekly/monthly reports on content
  • Interviewing internal teams, clients and industry experts for better understanding our products
  • Liaising with Designers for enriching text with visual aids (e.g. images, charts etc.)
  • Shaping tone and language for usage in brochures, banners and sales emails
  • Using SEO practices for the purpose of optimizing articles and increasing their search rankings

  • Collaborate with others for creative problem solving
  • Partner with other departments on creative, brand and/or project brief writing
