Job Title: Senior Director of Human Resources (Life Sciences)

Location: Maryland (Onsite)

Position Overview: The Senior Director of Human Resources will be a strategic leader responsible for driving the HR function in alignment with the overall business strategy. This role will oversee all aspects of HR, including employee relations, talent management, organizational development, and change management. The ideal candidate will bring experience from both large and small organizations, demonstrating the ability to adapt HR practices to diverse environments and business needs. As a key member of the leadership team, the Senior Director of HR will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s culture, enhancing employee engagement, and leading the HR team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic HR Leadership: Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's business objectives, focusing on talent acquisition, retention, development, and succession planning.
  • People Leadership: Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees across the organization.
  • Employee Relations: Oversee and manage complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures. Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on matters related to employee relations.
  • Change Management: Lead change management initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with business goals. Implement strategies to manage organizational change effectively, minimizing disruption and maximizing employee buy-in.
  • Talent Management: Drive talent management processes, including performance management, employee development, and career progression. Implement programs that enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Organizational Development: Partner with senior leadership to assess organizational needs and design structures that optimize efficiency and effectiveness. Lead initiatives to improve organizational culture and foster a positive work environment.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure HR practices comply with all relevant labor laws and regulations. Proactively identify and mitigate HR-related risks.
  • Experience with Diverse Organizational Environments: Leverage experience from both large and small organizations to tailor HR strategies that fit the company's unique needs and growth stage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing HR strategies that align with business goals.
  • Experience in the Life Science Industry is required
  • Strong experience in employee relations, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading change management initiatives.
  • Experience working in both large and small organizational environments, with the ability to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
