Powering entrepreneurs to end poverty.
About us
iDE is a global development organization that co-creates with foundations, governments, individuals, for-profits, and nonprofits to develop lasting solutions to poverty. We design and deliver market-based solutions in Agriculture and WASH in 11 countries across Asia, Africa, and Central America. Much more than a collection of technologies and field offices, we are a globally integrated ecosystem of nearly 1,000 staff, passionate about innovation and entrepreneurism. The bottom line is improving the lives of our clients: the rural farmers and small businesses that are among the world’s poorest. The impact we report is rooted in reality and the data is readily available to anyone. This is our method of ensuring that the investments—in money and in time—made by our donors, the rural entrepreneurs we are working with, the customers they are serving, and our staff are having real impact.

Chief Executive Officer, High-Performance Coach, Board Member I Delivering economic & social impact where it matters most
Our annual senior leadership meeting - SLAM - is my favorite event within iDE. This year was no exception! Not even a surprise appendectomy nine days before travel could keep me away from the amazing leaders across iDE. We gathered in Siem Reap, Cambodia to talk about our soon-to-be-launched audacious 10-year strategy—and the importance of aligning our leaders, our teams, and our resources to begin our delivery against our new impact goals. We left inspired by the stories of impact among our own staff and our clients that we faithfully champion and serve. I am so thankful to all of our leaders from across the globe for bringing their energy, their questions, and their ideas to drive deeper impact in the communities where we work. We are on the groundfloor of iDE’s next big chapter in delivering impact at scale.

This year’s Senior Leadership Annual Meeting (SLAM) was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia! A big thanks to our iDE Cambodia hosts for pulling off an exciting and engaging event. About 70 of our global leaders from 14 different countries came together under the theme of ‘Aligning to Lead’. We explored how every piece of our organization—from HR to programs, innovation to IT—fits together to drive our mission forward. We refined our global theory of change, engaged in collaborative brainstorming, and aligned on our new impact strategy. We rolled up our sleeves and got our hands dirty on strategic resource planning, entrepreneur journey mapping, and cross-country learning. At the end of the week, our teams returned to their home countries inspired, renewed, and feeling the rewarding fatigue that comes from working hard with good friends. As a 20-year veteran said, “I no longer work at iDE. I am iDE.” That goes for all of us. #Teamwork #Dedication #Alignment #Leadership #MissionDriven

We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Sanitation Marketing Scale-Up (SMSU) by iDE Cambodia! From 2009 to 2023, SMSU supported local entrepreneurs to make and sell over 410,000 latrines to rural Cambodians, increasing sanitation coverage from 23% to over 88% in the areas we served. This market-based program has empowered local businesses and improved lives.
