Our client, a leading producer of North American liquified natural gas (LNG), is looking to fill the role for a Senior Engineer, Instrument & Controls. This role is located near New Orleans, LA, and reports directly to the Director, Operations Engineering. Role Overview:
Develop and progress Ready for Operations (RFO) activities, ensuring a seamless transition from EPC to operations.
Serve as a technical SME in Instrument & Controls Engineering, with a strong understanding of Process Control & Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
Key Responsibilities:
DCS Management: Facilitate DCS tuning, control changes, and support the Advanced Process Control initiative.
Instrumentation Expertise: Provide knowledge in plant instrumentation like DCS, analyzers, valves, and transmitters.
Reliability Engineering: Lead RCFA and RCM efforts to improve maintenance practices and reliability.
Daily Support: Offer day-to-day support for maintenance and operations, advanced diagnostics, and process trip investigations.
RCFA Leadership: Conduct RCFA exercises, summarize findings, and present recommendations.
Alarm Management: Manage changes to alarm/trip settings and support the Alarm Management program.
Turnaround Planning: Assist the Maintenance team with planning and executing turnarounds.
Equipment Reliability: Track availability and improve reliability, managing critical spares and parts.
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Controls, Instrument, or Electrical Engineering
Professional Engineering License or eligibility for registration preferred
Experience:
5-10 years in a senior engineering role with Instrument & Controls equipment in an industrial setting
Oil and Gas experience required, preferably in LNG; petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable
Working knowledge of motors, gas turbines (frames & aero-derivatives), and compressors
Additional Skills:
Proficient in CMMS systems
RCFA tools for conducting failure analysis
Strong understanding of Process Control & Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with rapidly changing priorities
Capability to lead and manage projects effectively
