Reporting organisationally to the Director of Broadcast Production, Operations & Services, the Senior Manager, IBC will be responsible for managing the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) Venue and overseeing non technical IBC services for the FIFA World Cup 26. Working closely with the appointed Host Broadcaster, this role will lead the planning and delivery of the IBC.

THE POSITION

The main responsibilities of the Senior Manager, IBC for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include:

  • Manage the contractual relationship and deliverables of the IBC Venue, developing and maintaining strong relationships with the Venue management
  • Planning and coordination of all ancillary services for IBC Users. In coordination with relevant FWC26 Functional Areas, including security, medical, cleaning & waste, catering, transport, signage, emergency & disaster management. Ensuring IBC operational excellence and needs of all users are met.
  • Working closely with FWC26 functional areas with operational presence at the IBC venue and any FIFA Commercial Affiliates to integrate them into overall planning and delivery ensuring a cohesive Venue operation
  • Co-ordinating the relevant local authority certification processes for the IBC. Supporting the Host Broadcaster and suppliers with permitting and processes
  • Planning and coordination of Convenience services such as banking, convenience store, postal and courier service, hair and beauty salon, fitness centre and welcome desk
  • Managing the response to all non-technical front and back-of-house issues at the IBC during the planning and construction, the event Operations, and dismantling
  • Working closely with the logistics team on day-to-day logistics issues, and co-ordinating logistical matters for IBC stakeholders
  • Manage documentation procedure for the handover and handback of the venue.
  • Co-ordination and supervision of activities in the setup & dismantling phase, including with service providers for the setup & dismantling of IBC services in the temporary premises, setup & dismantling of all overlay put in place by the service providers (with the exception of broadcast premises), including look and feel, signage, fences etc.
  • Report on progress, managing and resolving risks and issues for and escalating any issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct post-event assessments, evaluating IBC operations, identifying successes and areas for improvement.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration throughout the project.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar level of higher education
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in event project management
  • Proven project management skills, with experience of managing complex projects across preparation, planning, and delivery
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in major sports events, FIFA World Cup or other FIFA events will be an asset
  • Experience of IBC or Venue management in an international sports event will be an asset
  • While broadcast knowledge is not a requirement, an understanding of broadcast at major international sports events will be considered an asset
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
