Senior Manager of Program and Portfolio Management

Our startup biotech client with incredible technology and deep pockets has tasked Scientific Search in finding them a Sr. Manager of Program and Portfolio Management who will work within their R&D Department. This team is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of research and development activities within the Company’s portfolio. You will be joining a preclinical stage company with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers and will contribute to key research and development activities in a highly collaborative environment. This position will play a pivotal role in driving the development of the Company’s platform technology towards the commercialization of its ultra-high concentration biologics delivery platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with cross-functional teams, and monitor progress ensuring successful achievement of milestones.
  • Manage and foster relationships while overseeing program planning, coordination, and execution for platform research, and development programs in alignment with company priorities.
  • Summarize key information including project progress, timeline updates, and risk/opportunity assessments for strategic discussions and decision making.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical teams, liaising between project teams and senior leadership to ensure alignment on project objectives and bringing about successful outcomes.
  • Partner with technical leaders to develop project prioritization and manage the governance and oversight of platform projects, ensuring appropriate stage-gating for continuing development.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience will be considered a Sr. Manager in the biotech industry with a bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline required.
  • PMP certification with prior experience in Smartsheet required.
  • Ability to manage scientifically and operationally complex activities with 3+ years of technical program management in a scientific organization preferred.
  • Familiarity with the biologic’s development process, clinical operational planning, and related functions preferred.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems to achieve program goals.
