Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer products for manufacturing adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing needs, and associated costs to inform management decisions.
- Support the specification and launch of new equipment and processes.
- Develop detailed process plans for precision machined components and assemblies.
- Create and maintain process routings, CNC programs, and tooling lists.
- Specify and implement work holding and cutting tools.
- Develop and maintain process instructions, including routings and work procedures.
- Design, install, and modify equipment and fixtures for product launches and existing products.
- Develop plant layouts, work instructions, and process flow layouts while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Define inspection methodologies and assist in resolving quality issues.
- Lead production launch and improvement activities.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and develop standard procedures.
- Provide technical support to manufacturing for new products and processes.
- Train operation personnel on manufacturing methods and processes.
- Support Operations and Quality Departments in resolving manufacturing issues.
Skills:
- Effective communication with customers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Application of statistical methods for troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities in a team environment.
- Critical thinking, analytical, and self-motivational skills.
- Understanding of GD&T and project management principles.
Education/Work Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in precision machining.
- Experience in process design and development, including materials, drawings, industry specifications, equipment, tooling, and testing.
- Knowledge of APQP, SPC, FMEA, & 8D Problem Solving.
- Familiarity with quality systems such as PPAP, Control Plans, GR&R, and Process Capability Studies.
- Proficiency in common machine tools and precision inspection methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in CAD software and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
