Senior Network Engineer

MSI Express is a single-source contract manufacturing and packaging company, delivering innovative engineering solutions from our strategically located network of manufacturing facilities.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for overseeing the company’s on-prem and cloud network infrastructure. They are part of the team responsible for the security of the company’s network systems. They will envision necessary projects that continue to secure and improve the performance of the company’s network infrastructure. They are expected to use their industry expertise to improve all aspects of the network infrastructure. Additionally, they will be expected to mentor and assist with the technical support team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or better in computer science or networking field
• Technical certifications in key networking disciplines
• Experience working with Azure, AWS, Cisco Firepower and wireless, and HP Switches
• Work experience in multiple site production facilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working side-by-side with business colleagues to address their technical challenges and ensure high levels of service, availability, security and quality through collaborative design and development.
• Possess the ability to solve complex networking problems often requiring innovative, creative approaches.
• Forward-thinker: Simply fixing the problem isn't enough; using your proactive mindset and initiative, you'll continually look for ways to improve the performance, quality and efficiency of the network.
• Provide Infrastructure solutions and guidance to operational support staff to implement solutions to help them work more efficiently.
• Develop a roadmap for hardware refreshes, software improvement and systems analytics to ensure enterprise-grade reliability and security.
• Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
• Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and backup procedures and information security and control structures.
• Maintain QOS by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
• Documents designs, processes and training for organizational use and expansion.
• Adept at multiple site integration and management of implementations.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

• Strong communication skills, adept at oral communication, listening, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Ability to speak in business terms translating technical concepts into business terminology.
• Customer-centric ability to understand who we're here to serve and the systems you engineer will keep the end-user front and center.
• Inclination to share knowledge. Continually educate and update the business functions and IT department.
• Interest in finding unique solutions to complicated problems and exploring new concepts with a cross-functional team.
