HarperAudio is looking to hire a Senior Producer! We’re a nimble, dynamic team that oversees the production of all of HarperCollins US and Harlequin US audiobooks. Spanning a wide range of genres, you get to work with best-selling authors and help launch new careers.

A little about you: You love the spoken word both as a creative and as a listener. For you, there’s no greater rush than assembling the perfect team for a project. You’re detailed oriented, an excellent communicator, and great at managing competing deadlines. You get excited about pushing the audiobook format forward.

The job: You will be responsible for the production of approximately 250 titles a year. Your title list will be a mix of Trade fiction and non-fiction. You get to work on single voice narration, multicast productions, author narrations, and more. You will manage relationships with various outside producers and work closely with the print publishing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Hires and manages all production resources and outside contractors. Depending on the project this can include narrators, producers, directors, studios, etc.
  • Develops casting lists for assigned titles and works with the other producers to expand our talent pool.
  • Ensures that the audiobook production runs on schedule and within budget, troubleshooting any problems that may arise and working closely with the in-house production team to create solutions.
  • Ensures all audiobook programs maintain a high level of production quality.
  • Cultivates relationships with editors and authors.
  • Manages other misc. aspects of production.
  • Directs select titles.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in narrative audio production, direct experience in audiobooks is a plus
  • Experience in people management
  • Ability to set priorities and problem solve under pressure
  • Is a self-starter and strong team member
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented and well-organized, with strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, skilled at Excel
  • Conversational, or fluent, in Spanish is a plus
  • Willingness to work Eastern time zone hours is required
