Senior Proposal Engineer

What is the job about?

The Senior Proposal Engineer provides world class customer service through prompt and professional pricing and technical/commercial sales support to customers, channel partners, OEMs, Business Development Managers and sales teams for products and their applications. The Proposal Engineer ensures the proper specification of products and issues technical documents as required and is responsible for providing technical assistance and training to the inside and outside sales force and customers as applicable to the Grundfos product range. In addition, they will facilitate profitability and efficiency using product knowledge, product selection software, and innovation to provide technical solutions to customer requests provide leadership, guidance, and expertise to colleagues. This position reports directly to the proposal manager and will operate on a hybrid schedule out of our Brookshire, TX site.

Your main responsibilities:

• Provide customer and sales teams with product specification and technical assistance as needed.
• Provides custom costing, reviews and approves formal quotations, and provides custom pricing support to the Proposal Engineering team members.
• Collaborates with internal departments and suppliers to create price quotes for non-standard products where list price is not readily available.
• Assess advanced product applications to determine proper selection of pumps, assists with high level product troubleshooting and installation assistance, and provides product training to employees.
• Assists product specialists with program management projects, duties, and services.
• Conduct product related technical analysis for internal and external audiences, including sales reports and business planning documents.
• Required to meet or exceed Customer Support Center quality assurance standards on a consistent basis.
• Provide leadership pertaining to quality and quantity of work performed.
  
  

Your background:

We imagine that you have:

• Qualified candidates will possess a four-year technical or engineering degree. Additionally, have 5-7+ years of sales/engineering experience with extensive knowledge of pump systems.
• Research, design, evaluate and have expert technical knowledge of HVAC equipment, systems and processes.
• Ability to manage multiple, divergent priorities, and work independently with a high degree of accuracy to meet customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Sufficient education and experience to learn, troubleshoot, and train others in applications and systems which use Grundfos products.
• Proficiency in the use of ERP systems, Microsoft Office including MS Excel, SAP, and product sizing software.
• A willingness to travel up to 20% if necessary. As a result, candidates should be able to maintain valid identification.
