Your Primary Responsibilities Include:

The Senior QC Analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards in residential loans by performing detailed analyses, reporting findings, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed quality control tests on residential loans to ensure they meet the established standards and guidelines.
  • Analyze data from quality control tests to identify trends, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Detect and report any discrepancies or issues found during the QC process. This can include errors in documentation, compliance issues, or deviations from loan guidelines.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings from quality control tests, including recommendations for corrective actions and improvements.
  • Work with the QC Manager to develop and refine quality control processes and procedures to enhance the overall quality and efficiency of the QC function.
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure consistent application of quality control standards and procedures.
  • Ensure that all quality control activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as underwriting and loan processing, to address and resolve quality issues and improve overall loan quality.
  • Conduct internal audits and assist in external audits related to quality control processes and findings.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on quality control standards, methodologies, and best practices within the residential loan industry.
  • Perform special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), or similar; OR associate degree and two (2) years of experience in functional area; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience in functional area.
  • Additional three (3) years+ of progressive experience in functional area.


Additional Job Requirements:

  • Proven skills and experience with mortgage operations functions, including pre-close/post-close.
  • Non-QM experience is a plus.
  • Proven knowledge on conventional, FHA, HELoan, and Non-QM underwriting guidelines.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office 365 and the following technology: Encompass and ACES.
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education, certifications, etc. as applicable to advancing in the organization.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to speak confidently.
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change daily, and where employees wear many hats.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to think "outside the box" and prioritize tasks and decisions in a timely manner.
  • Self-directed, yet effective working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Responsive and customer-focused with a demonstrated use of professional judgment.
