Job Summary

The team is seeking an Associate / Sr Associate to monitor a portfolio of existing investments, participate in due diligence related to new investment opportunities and implement strategic initiatives in an entrepreneurial environment. This is an opportunity to join on the ground floor of a well-capitalized asset management company.

Responsibilities

  • Assess performance of assets under coverage, identifying and evaluating idiosyncratic and sector-specific risks via analysis of fundamental drivers, financial results, and operational developments.
  • Identify counterparties with deteriorating credit profiles via analysis of liquidity, leverage metrics, covenants, and cash flow generation. Assign internal credit ratings and perform enhanced due diligence for Watch listed assets.
  • Perform quarterly valuations of investments in conjunction with a 3rd party valuation agent and present findings to senior management and audit committees.
  • Lead amendment and modification processes, recommending a specific course of action to safeguard the value of existing investments.
  • Produce analytics around performance of the portfolio to meet public filing requirements, communication with senior management and BOD, and to satisfy investor inquiries.
  • Participate in the due diligence process of new investment opportunities, incorporating lessons learned from an existing portfolio.
  • Track impact metrics for investments post-close and evaluate performance against the firm's impact framework.
  • Assist with strategic initiatives of the Lafayette Square platform, including general firm strategy, technology adoption and implementation, among others.



Requirements

  • Experience: 4-6 years preferred, with 2-5 years in leverage finance, investment banking, portfolio management, credit risk management or restructuring roles
  • Strong academic credentials - Bachelor's Degree is required
  • Analytical mindset, ability to work independently and interest in managing a portfolio of assets
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills
  • Mature, responsible, and entrepreneurial qualities to complement the existing team
  • Solid writing and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across functions
  • Passion for working an impact-driven investment platform.



Compensation

Compensation can range from $125K- $200K based on experience.
