Develop, oversee and cultivate existing territory's agency distribution network to increase flood sales and improve retention. Maintain regular communication with agents within territory via e-mail, face to face visits, webinars, phone calls, trade meetings etc. Communication is measured per annual goals. Research, identify and sign up new agents to generate new and rollover flood business to meet goals established annually. Utilize marketing tools to obtain rollover business per annual goals and assist agents in the rollover process when necessary. Grow, promote and support the National Independent Agents and Brokers Flood Program (Big I) through their State's Associations, and their member agents. Solicit and develop the existing Big I Agents to increase sales and improve retention. Research, identify and sign up new Big I Agents to generate new and rollover flood business. Provide and support the Big I and their members with technical information and training via CE training on a regular and as needed basis. Provide technical information, develop and conduct training/marketing classes, both informal and Flood Certified Education (CE) Classes, including technical presentations to internal and external audiences. Attend trade conferences and represent Selective in a professional manor to sign on agents and pull in premium. Provides technical assistance/support on highly complex issues including underwriting, general NFIP rules, claim support, rollovers, customer service, sales, marketing and the internet based flood system. Promote agent's usage of the flood system to improve the processing of business and reduce expenses. Monitor flood zone determination usage to identify marketing opportunities and reduce abuse. Provides input and assists in planning/ implementation of short and long term goals for the territory including premium retention and growth goals, and new agency appointments Monitor map revision in territory to help achieve short and long term goals. Coordinate with the underwriting and internal sales team to plan and implement goals. Monitors and analyzes territory results and achievements. Makes recommendations and implements modifications in order to maximize those results or achievements. Develops and implements marketing strategies. Utilizes systematic reports to monitor agency premium and growth on a regular basis and take any necessary action with agents. Maintain product and market knowledge of the NFIP Program, the rules and regulation of the product, competitors, map changes, levee decertification and other information important to maintaining a competitive edge. Must be able to drive an automobile to travel within territory. Car travel represents approximately 40-50% of employee's time.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Possesses superior overall knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program, the NFIP flood product including their rules and regulation, the flood system, our distribution network and current market knowledge of the territory. Must have valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and be able to drive an automobile. College degree preferred. 1 year Computer Operations (PC) experience preferred. 1-5 years property insurance experience, NFIP experience preferred. 1-5 years underwriting experience preferred.

The expected starting salary range for this role is $82,000 - $130,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.
