Job Summary

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of entries to general ledger and subledger accounts.
• Maintain financial records for organization.
• Prepare and enter routine journal entries.
• Process payroll for secondary business.
• Analyze costs and revenue.
• Compile financial data for review and analysis.
• Complete moderately complex calculations using spreadsheet or software tools.
• Reconciles accounts and bank statements.
• Assist with review of monthly sales tax transactions.
• Special projects.
• Provide support and assistance to the Accounting department.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities

• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
• Ability to operate a 10-key.
• Working knowledge of accounting software.
• Experience with Excel and the ability to utilize formula, vlookup, and other common functions within software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good verbal communication skills.
  
  

Education/Experience

• Associate's degree in a related field, or 1-3 years of equivalent experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods.
• Majority of shift spent sitting at a desk in front of a computer.
• Must be able to communicate via soft phone.
