Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is a key contributor to the daily operations of the Finance team and will focus on accounting, controls, and process improvements with exposure to a wide range of areas. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. The Staff Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager while working closely with the broader Finance team and operational teams. K18 is a fully remote, fast-paced, collaborative environment with opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Account for transactions under US GAAP on a timely basis and in adherence to close calendar
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with preparing financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows
• Partner with Finance in analyzing close results compared to budget/forecast
• Execute internal controls to ensure transactions and balances are accurately reported
• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to build efficiencies into existing processes
• Support external annual financial audit, tax preparation and insurance renewal activities by providing timely and accurate support schedules as requested
• Cultivate strong partnerships with Finance and cross-functional teams
• Participate and collaborate on Company and department driven initiatives, including special projects
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and tasks as requested
  
  

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA designation or path to obtaining CPA preferred
• 1-2 years of accounting experience, including experience at a public accounting firm
• Microsoft Suites skills are essential, including strong/exceptional Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables and v-lookup) and comfort with Word and PowerPoint
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across the organization
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Inquisitive and eager to learn
• Able to identify issues and make recommendations for solutions
• Experience in manufacturing and/or beauty industry a plus
  
  

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 USD

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and if the location of the job changes.
