Staff Accountant

Description

Our client in the healthcare industry is currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will be providing professional accounting support across various financial functions of the company. This includes preparing month-end close journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and undertaking various special projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end close journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Perform account reconciliations, especially for cash and other accounts, to maintain the integrity of the financial data
• Utilize automated accounting systems to streamline work processes
• Engage in special projects as needed, utilizing advanced analytical skills to interpret and report complex data
• Communicate effectively with a variety of individuals within the organization, fostering a team-based environment
• Manage deadlines effectively, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner
• Maintain a strong attention to detail in all aspects of the role
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze data
• Oversee the General Ledger and make necessary adjustments
• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and perform bank reconciliations.
  
  

Requirements

• Must have at least one year of experience in a Staff Accountant role, ideally within the Healthcare/NHS industry
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct software is necessary
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel are required
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must possess a strong ethical framework and professional integrity
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
