Role Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic, creative, and adaptable Staff Writer to join YHM's editorial team. As a key contributor, you’ll be responsible for pitching, sourcing, and writing stories weekly across various trending lifestyle topics. The ideal candidate is not only a self-starter with strong writing and grammar skills but also brings fresh editorial strategies that spark conversation and drive traffic.

This is a volunteer position, ideal for someone looking to build their portfolio, develop valuable industry skills, and contribute to a mission-driven publication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Story Development: Take full ownership of article production—from pitching ideas to researching, interviewing, and writing for yhmmagazine.com.
• SEO Optimization: Ensure all content is optimized for search engines and aligns with the publication’s broader SEO strategy.
• Research & Fact-Checking: Engage with experts, review academic journals, scan user forums, and gather data to ensure accuracy in storytelling.

Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in editorial, copywriting, or content creation; a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field is a plus.
• Strong writing skills with impeccable attention to detail—both written and visual.
• Experience with WordPress or other content management systems is a plus.
• Self-motivated, comfortable working remotely, and eager to contribute to a startup environment.
• Passionate about creating impactful content and excited to volunteer in a dynamic, supportive team.

• Location: Fully remote.
• Compensation: This is a volunteer position and will not offer financial compensation.
