The UAB Division of Preventive Medicine seeks a Statistician II who will work 100% under the supervision of the BBSF Director. The Statistician Position will provide statistical analysis services for Cancer Center investigators in areas to include early phase clinical trials, large multi-center trials data coordinating center, and observational studies, including comparative effectiveness research, and epidemiological research.
Key Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
Performs statistical programming and data analysis, reviews databases, handles quality assurance, provides program verification, and supports verification of statistical results. Perform and use mostly advanced methods. Able to help create appropriate study databases
Interpretation of statistical results and ability to convey results to the investigator. Able to perform biostatistics job functions with minimum supervision, help collaborators, and meet with collaborators independently. Write a statistical section for the journal manuscripts
Meets deadlines and has excellent time management skills. Evaluate research studies and recommend statistical procedures
Mentor statistician I
Performs other duties as assigned
Annually Salary Range: $60,835.00-$98,855.00
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications:
Master's degree in Math or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in SAS, R and other standard software
Collaborative research experience in a biomedical research environment Experience in research study design and assessing appropriate statistical methods
Ability to work with minimal instructions
Experience in interpretation of statistical results and ability to convey results to investigator
